A Terrifying Dust Storm Hits a Town in Australia, Creating an Apocalyptic Scene.
The Massive Dust Storm with winds reaching speeds of 110 km/h swept through various areas in Queensland, Australia. In some places, the sky turned red as the dust storm ravaged the region.
A local resident named Leaim Shaw captured a video that quickly gained attention on social media. The footage showcases various angles of the town of Boulia, which was “engulfed” by the dust storm on December 19. The terrifying images of the dust storm reminded many viewers of the post-apocalyptic film “Mad Max.” Boulia is home to approximately 300 residents.
Local residents reported that this was the largest dust storm they had witnessed in many years. The sky turned red, and the howling winds shook homes as people sought shelter.

Mr. Shaw stated that this was the largest dust storm he had ever seen since moving to the remote town of Boulia.
“We are used to smaller dust storms. But on the afternoon of December 19, it was the largest dust storm since I arrived here. It made me a bit scared,” said Mr. Shaw.
Meteorologists emphasized that the unusual large dust storm was a result of a series of thunderstorms in the area. Many regions in Queensland also experienced heavy rain and cooler weather after the dust cloud passed through.
“The storms are chaotic, but sometimes they link together, and as on December 19, they form along a line,” shared Helen Kirkup, an official from the Bureau of Meteorology, with Yahoo News Australia.
The dust storm also impacted the areas of Mount Isla, Dajarra, and Urandangi in Queensland.
