Entertainment company Electronic Arts announced yesterday the development of six games for the next-generation gaming console, Wii. The Wii is expected to attract buyers with its motion-sensing controller, enabling players to control sports games like golf and baseball with real-life movements.
Electronic Arts (EA), the largest video game publisher in the world, stated that its development team for the Wii is finalizing new versions of two of its best-selling games: the football game “Madden NFL” and the racing game “Need for Speed”.

The other games include adaptations of the popular titles “Harry Potter,” “Tiger Woods PGA Tour,” “SSX,” and “The Godfather”.
EA revealed that each of these games will leverage the technological advantages of the Wii’s unique controller, crafted with the creativity of both scriptwriters and game developers.
However, the Silicon Valley-based company did not disclose the release dates for these six new games, only mentioning that additional games are in development for the Wii and will be announced in the coming months.
Just two days ago, EA also announced the launch of over 20 new games for 11 different gaming devices, including the next-generation consoles, personal computers, and mobile gaming devices.
Additionally, EA plans to integrate real-time content from the ESPN cable sports network into sports games, allowing in-game athletes to move more naturally.
Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 are set to officially go on sale later this year, while the Xbox 360 has been available from Microsoft since November of last year.
