On March 13, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 393/QD-TTg regarding the establishment of the Department of Technology Application and Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology. This department will assist the Minister of Science and Technology in fulfilling state management functions and organizing activities related to technology application and development nationwide.
According to this decision, the Department of Technology Application and Development is a legal entity with its own seal, entitled to funding from the state budget, and permitted to open accounts at the State Treasury. Its headquarters will be located in Hanoi, with representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The Minister of Science and Technology will specify the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Department of Technology Application and Development.
The Minister of Science and Technology, along with the ministers, heads of equivalent agencies, heads of government agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees, are responsible for implementing this decision. The decision takes effect 15 days after the signing date.
