If the venomous snake had not been discovered and the shoe had been put on, one can only imagine the serious consequences the owner of this shoe would have faced.
The incident occurred in a village in Bihar, eastern India, when a young man noticed his shoe moving and emitting a frightening sound. Upon closer inspection, he was startled to find a snake lying inside the shoe, prompting him to immediately call for snake-catching experts for assistance.
A female expert used a snake-catching stick to poke inside the shoe, causing the snake to quickly poke its head out, puff its hood, and hiss aggressively. The expert remained calm and used a specialized tool to safely extract the venomous snake from the shoe.

The snake expert advised everyone to thoroughly check their shoes before putting them on, especially during the rainy season when snakes seek dry and warm places to hide.
The expert later released the snake far away from residential areas.
The snake involved in this incident was a juvenile Indian cobra. The Indian cobra is one of the “big four venomous snakes” in India, which are the four snake species responsible for the highest number of fatalities due to snake bites in the country, including the Indian cobra, the Indian krait, the Russell’s viper, and the saw-scaled viper.
The snake quickly poked its head out, puffing its hood and hissing aggressively when disturbed.
Indian cobras typically feed on rodents, toads, frogs, and other snakes. Due to their diet and habit of hunting in human-inhabited areas, these cobras often lead to numerous snakebite incidents. However, this species is revered in Indian culture and religion.
According to many experts, juvenile venomous snakes still possess fully developed venom glands and can be deadly with a single bite. Young snakes may even inject a larger amount of venom per bite because they have not yet learned to regulate their venom output like adult snakes.
