Located in an abandoned mining area beneath the Snowdonia mountain range in Wales, the Deep Sleep hotel is known as the deepest hotel in the world.

According to Oddity Central, situated 419 meters underground in the abandoned Cwmorthin quarry, Deep Sleep is the deepest hotel in the world. To experience a stay in this unique hotel, guests must not only pay a fee of $688 per night but also undertake a challenging expedition through steep paths and old mine tunnels.
Deep Sleep is a one-of-a-kind hotel with architecture unlike any other. It features four small wooden cabins with two single beds each, and a romantic cave room with a double bed. The hotel also includes a dining area and restrooms.

The Deep Sleep hotel was inaugurated in April by Go Below. Notably, the hotel is only open to guests one night a week – on Saturdays.
Guests will commence their expedition at 5 PM every Saturday, assisted by a guide near the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Participants will be required to wear helmets and additional protective gear to descend into Cwmorthin – the largest and deepest abandoned quarry in the world. They will climb old stairs, cross abandoned bridges, and navigate slippery paths.

Throughout the journey, the guide will share fascinating information about the quarry to keep guests engaged. Each expedition lasts about an hour.
At Deep Sleep, guests will be treated to hot drinks and adventure-style meals before they settle down for a “deep” sleep.
The temperature in the deepest hotel in the world remains at a cool 10 degrees Celsius year-round, but the thick insulated wooden cabins are said to be quite cozy. The hotel is also equipped with running water, electricity, and even Wi-Fi via a 1km Ethernet cable connected to a 4G antenna on the surface.

Constructing a hotel in an abandoned mine is no simple feat. The mastermind behind this idea is Miles Moulding, the CEO of Go Below, a company established 13 years ago.
“I have always wanted to come up with ideas that have never been executed before. Our target market is adventure seekers who want to try something different. There is no hotel like Deep Sleep in the UK,” said Mike.
Deep Sleep has claimed the title of “the deepest hotel in the world”, surpassing a series of rooms in the Sala Silver Mine in Sweden, which is located 154 meters underground.
