Skin darkening is a concern for many people, especially women who have recently given birth or those who work outdoors and are frequently on the go. Some herbal masks can help alleviate this issue.
Tomato – Bitter Melon – Egg for Skin Brightening
Take 1 tomato, 1 bitter melon, and 1 egg. Clean the tomato, remove the seeds, chop it finely, and mash it. Clean the bitter melon, remove the seeds, and crush it. Combine all these with the egg yolk and egg white, mix well, and blend until smooth. In the evening, before going to bed, wash your face thoroughly, dry it, and lightly wipe with rose water. Then apply the tomato-bitter melon-egg mixture to your face; once it dries, apply a second layer to form a mask. After 1 hour, peel it off and wash your face clean before going to sleep.
Cucumber – Young Gourd for Smooth Skin and Dark Spot Reduction

Take 1 fresh cucumber and 1 young gourd of similar size. Clean both the cucumber and young gourd while keeping the skin and seeds, chop them finely, crush them, and extract the juice. Store the juice in the refrigerator and use it throughout the day, 2-3 times. Wash your face as mentioned earlier, then apply the cucumber and gourd juice to your face. After 30 minutes, rinse your face with cold water.
Aloe Vera – Rice Water for Acne, Freckles, and Dark Spots
Use 1 part fresh aloe vera and 1 part rice water. Let the rice water settle for about 10 minutes and discard the clear water on top. Peel one side of the aloe vera leaf and use a teaspoon to scrape the gel, matching the amount of rice water. Mix the two thoroughly. Before bedtime, wash your face clean and apply this mixture to your face. In the morning, wash it off.
