Typhoon Fanapi, with winds reaching 198 km/h, struck Taiwan on September 19 and has since made landfall in Guangdong, China, resulting in 13 fatalities.
As of 11 PM on September 21 (local time), Typhoon Fanapi, which made landfall in the cities of Gaozhou, Xinyi, and Yangchun in Guangdong Province, has led to at least 13 confirmed deaths and 33 people reported missing.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds have not only caused flooding but have also triggered landslides and other secondary geological disasters. By 6:30 PM on September 21, over 350,000 residents of Xinyi city were affected by the typhoon, with direct economic losses amounting to 460 million yuan (approximately 68 million USD).
