Do you have thousands of digital photos stored in numerous thematic folders across your hard drive? Finding all these photos for backup can certainly be a challenge!
The tool named “Photos Forever” will help you quickly locate all the digital photos on your computer as well as assist you in backing them up in the most efficient way.
The main function of Photos Forever (PF) is to support backing up all types of digital photo formats on CD or DVD, but the most essential feature of this tool lies in its ability to hunt down all the digital photos on your computer, regardless of how hidden they may be.
Using PF is quite simple. The first step is to select the file types you wish to back up by clicking on the “File Types…” button. PF supports the default search and backup for around 30 of the most popular digital photo formats, and users can add new formats or remove any specific file types from PF’s supported file type list.
After selecting the file types, choose “All Photos” and click Next for PF to begin searching and listing all available digital photos on your computer in thumbnail view. PF has the capability to search for digital photos across all storage devices connected to your computer, meaning that in addition to searching the hard drive, PF will also list photos found on CDs, USB flash drives, or network hard drives… You should check the “Custom Folder” option, then click on the “Edit” button to “Add” all the storage devices where the digital photos you want PF to find are located.
You can also “Sort” all found photos by size, date, or file name. It’s fascinating how PF helps you rediscover photos that have been stored away for so long that you had forgotten about their existence.
After selecting or deselecting the discovered digital photos, continue by clicking “Next” to proceed to the interface for preparing to burn the photos to a CD or DVD. In this interface, you will select the burning speed in the “Speed” box; if you want to keep the original names of the digital photos, do not check the “Reorder & Rename photos…” box. Once you’ve made your selections, insert a blank disc into the tray and click Next to start the backup process. If the total size of the digital photos exceeds the capacity of one CD or DVD, PF will issue a warning for you to continue inserting blank discs into the tray to complete the burning process.
On your next use, instead of selecting “All Photos,” you can simply choose “New Photos,” and PF will automatically find all the digital photos that it hasn’t updated from your last use, allowing you to back up these new photos easily.
Acoustica is currently selling the latest version of Photos Forever for $19.95. Users can click here to download the trial version, which is approximately 2 MB in size.
