This week, it’s not just Internet Explorer users who need to update their browsers. Even fans of Mozilla are receiving a valuable “upgrade” for the “Red Fox” (Firefox).
The update for the Firefox browser on the Mac OS X operating system, running on computers with Intel processors, not only enhances the stability of the browser but also addresses several critical security vulnerabilities.
The new version of the browser, Firefox 1.5.0.2, has been labeled “stable and secure” by the Mozilla team. They advise all users to update to this version as soon as possible.
This version will be automatically updated via the Internet for users of Firefox 1.5. Those using earlier versions of Firefox will need to visit Mozilla.com to initiate the update.
This iteration of Firefox is expected to run faster and more stably due to its reliance on Apple’s chipsets for computers running Mac OS X with Intel processors, compared to the previous version which was based on the Rosetta translation technology.
