The first C919 aircraft was delivered to China Eastern Airlines in December 2022, featuring 164 seats with 8 in business class and 156 in economy class.
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) officially showcased the C919 at the Singapore Airshow 2024, the largest aviation exhibition in Asia. This marks the first time that the aircraft, designed and produced by Comac since 2008, has left China. The C919 has a length of nearly 39 meters, a capacity of 168 passengers, and a maximum range of 4,075 kilometers. The C919 aircraft was displayed at the event as part of the fleet of China Eastern, the first Chinese airline to receive this narrow-body aircraft. Although the aircraft is made in China, it still utilizes a majority of components sourced from the United States and Europe. The C919 is powered by the CFM International LEAP engines, which are manufactured by a joint venture between American and French companies. This engine is also used in the Airbus A320neo. |
