The first food delivery to the International Space Station (ISS) provides astronauts with an exciting new service experience.
Yusaka Maezawa, the Japanese billionaire, arrived at the ISS last week, and one of his missions was to “ship” food for the astronauts.

Yusaka Maezawa partnered with UberEats to become the world’s first official provider of off-Earth deliveries.
This off-Earth order included dishes such as miso-glazed mackerel, sweet sauce beef, bamboo shoot chicken, and braised pork.
Dara Khosrowshahi, an Uber representative, stated: “We have come a long way to successfully complete the first delivery beyond Earth. Our goal is to help people anywhere receive everything they order. We are proud to serve astronauts at the International Space Station.“
He enjoyed his new role as a “shipper,” even though his delivery took about 30 minutes longer than initially planned.

Yusaka Maezawa and the crew arrived at the ISS on December 11 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. He will spend 12 days on the massive orbital laboratory.
On December 13, Yusaka Maezawa responded to criticisms regarding the extravagance and high costs of his space journey. He believes it is a fantastic experience, well worth it.
Yusaka Maezawa said: “When you are in space, you realize how amazing it is, a worthwhile experience. I believe this experience will lead to many other wonderful things. The most memorable moments were when I saw the ISS from the ship just before docking and when we stepped inside after arriving. Indeed, space travel is very expensive, but it’s not just about how much money you have. Your body also needs to be in good health, you need time to adjust to this environment, and you need a training process for emergencies, at least a few months. So, to be honest, space travel is for those who have time, good health, and the financial means.”
He admitted that sleeping on the space station remains a significant challenge for him. “Honestly, I don’t sleep well. I have a sleeping bag, but it’s too hot, so I’m not used to using it,” Yusaka Maezawa said.
