Over the past two days, a clip of a “giant” waterspout has been circulating on Facebook. The video became even more captivating when a stunning rainbow appeared alongside the waterspout.
According to reports, the video was recorded by Nguyen Chung (a resident of Cửa Lò Town, Nghệ An) on the afternoon of October 4, while he was out fishing with a group of fishermen in the waters off Cửa Lò. The location where Chung filmed the waterspout was near Mắt Island (Cửa Lò Town).

Chung mentioned that the waterspout was very large and lasted for quite a long time. However, he only recorded a nearly one-minute video as a keepsake. This was also Chung’s first time at sea, encountering this unusual natural phenomenon.
Notably, at the time the waterspout appeared, there was no rain in the area. Coupled with the clearing skies, the appearance of the waterspout coincided with the formation of a rainbow, creating a surreal atmosphere.
It is known that heavy rain has been affecting Nghệ An Province over the past two days due to a tropical depression. Meteorological agencies have warned that heavy rains will continue in the coming days, raising concerns about flooding and landslides.
