Gigabyte has just introduced the first PDA Phone that supports TV services running on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system at a trade fair in Taiwan.
This device is targeted at business professionals, aiming to provide an optimal PDA equipped with superior Personal Information Management (PIM) solutions.
Integrated with MS Office software, it allows users to manage emails and documents even when they are away from their office. In addition to the basic features of a PDA, the g-Smart is equipped with a 2.4-inch LCD TFT touchscreen displaying 262,000 colors with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. It supports wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, includes an English-Chinese dictionary, and features a media player that supports TV/FM/MP3/MPEG4 formats, as well as a 2.1-megapixel camera for photo and video recording. A complimentary 256MB Mini SD Card is also provided. Equipped with PaPaGo G10, the g-Smart offers users a 3D map of Taiwan and voice-guided navigation while traveling.
The Gigabyte g-Smart allows for voice commands and hotkeys for operation. The official release date has yet to be announced; however, the Gigabyte g-Smart is expected to be a popular PDA in 2006.
