Three Internet Giants May Establish Their Own Wireless Networks If U.S. Telecom Companies Continue to Harass Them Over “Bandwidth Usage Fees.”

AT&T, leading a coalition of telecom companies, has received the green light from the government to pressure Google and several major websites into paying extra fees for “excessive bandwidth usage.”
At that moment, Google described this proposal as nothing short of extortion and an unreasonable “hefty tax.” However, it seems they are now more determined than ever to build their own wireless network that connects directly to households if AT&T continues these unreasonable demands.
Nevertheless, this is still merely a prediction from analysts, although Investor’s Business Daily has pointed out that with many wireless frequency bands still available, the three giants—Google, eBay, and Amazon—could simply purchase and build a broadband wireless network connecting offices and homes.
Among the three, Google is cited as the most willing and aggressive player, planning to bid for two frequency blocks in the near future. If a coalition between these three companies is formed, Google could invest billions of dollars to establish a high-speed wireless network that spans across the United States. It’s important to remember that all three of these giants have substantial financial resources, making significant investments a real possibility.
If the new network system proves sufficient, it could potentially take a significant portion of the Internet market away from telecom companies, which have already suffered heavily from the loss of VoIP and broadband accounts.
