The Astronomy Park (Hà Đông District, Hanoi) is the first astronomy-themed park in Southeast Asia, which has recently opened after being abandoned for four years.
The Astronomy Park is located in Dương Nội Ward, Hà Đông District, Hanoi, with a total investment of approximately 260 billion VND, construction began in 2017 and was completed in the first quarter of 2020.
The park is built on an area of over 12 hectares, expected to be a landmark architecture in the Dương Nội urban area.
However, after its completion, the park was left abandoned for four years and was only opened for use at the beginning of February.
Security staff here noted that the park officially opened about 10 days ago. Since opening, the park has welcomed a large number of residents for recreation and exercise in the mornings and afternoons.
The park is constructed with a theme centered on astronomy, combining research and entertainment, with an area nearly equal to the Kazan Astronomical Observatory (Russia) – celebrated as the first astronomy park in the world.
The focal point of the Astronomy Park is the 6-hectare Bách Hợp Thủy Lake.
This is the first outdoor park in Southeast Asia themed around astronomy, attracting public attention due to its green space and beautiful architecture.
The park features numerous sections dedicated to astronomy, including the Big Bang Square, Black Hole Pool, Light Fountain, UFO Zone…
The park has four entrances corresponding to four squares.
The park also features a garden of famous scientists, showcasing statues of renowned scientists like Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, and mythological figures associated with astronomy such as Atlas carrying the Earth.
“The park has been completed for a long time, but this is the first time my family has come here for a stroll. Walking around, I see the park has many unique features that other places do not have. Especially the playground for children,” shared Hoàng Xuân Huy (41 years old, residing in Mỗ Lao Ward, Hà Đông District).
On February 17, reporters observed that the UFO Zone attracted hundreds of children playing.
This is also a playground for children structured to simulate a “space grid” with protrusions and depressions resembling geological formations on the surfaces of planets such as the Moon, Mars, etc.
Children line up to participate in activities like slides, rope swings, and sand pits. These playgrounds are completely free.
Many children are very excited about the games in the park.
Models simulating Earth, stars, the sun, etc., attract many children and residents to visit and take photos.
With its beautiful design and space, along with interesting and educational themed sections, the Astronomy Park promises to be a unique experience for the capital’s residents.
