Rada Scope: A Wall-Penetrating Device. |
U.S. counter-terrorism experts have developed a device that can detect the presence of individuals behind a concrete wall that is 25 cm thick.
The portable radar device, known as Rada Scope, is anticipated to become a valuable tool for police and military personnel during counter-terrorism operations and engagements in major cities as well as residential areas.
Inventors assert that the Rada Scope can determine within seconds whether a house is occupied. Simply place the device against the wall, and it can record even the smallest movements and the breathing of individuals inside.
This device weighs nearly 680 grams and is comparable in size to a telephone receiver, offering significantly improved effectiveness over existing detection machines. Its casing is waterproof, and it operates on AA batteries.
The U.S. Department of Defense plans to provide these wall-penetrating devices to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq. Additionally, the Department is also looking to enhance the technology to develop a product known as Visi Building, which will be able to scan buildings with layout maps, staircases, and detect subjects within.
