If you are a diligent and dedicated worker, your superiors will surely be pleased. However, if you continue to work tirelessly at your computer without taking moments to relax, your health may suffer.
One of the issues that can arise is Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), which has been referenced in numerous articles. Therefore, after a certain amount of time, it is essential to take a few minutes to rest, and let the free software User Health assist us with this. The program is 575 KB in size, compatible with Windows 98 and above, and can be downloaded from www.userhealth.tk.
The program interface includes:
– Message: Pre-selected notifications serve as reminders for health, suggesting breaks, and notifying you when it’s time to… go to sleep.
– Checkbox to set how many minutes the program will remind you. Options include 30, 45, or 60 minutes. If you wish to customize, click on the Other box and enter your preferred number of minutes.
– Click the More Settings button for additional options in the Settings box:
* Options Frame: Check the box Use keyboard LEDs on message if you want the Num lock, Cap lock, and Scroll lock lights on your keyboard to illuminate as a notification. If you check the Only sound message box, the program will only notify you with sound without displaying a text warning window. If you check the Force the user to take a break box, you must then specify the number of seconds in the box below, and the program will issue a warning that you must take a break, displayed in a large box right in the middle of the screen.
* Sound Frame: Specify a wav audio file for alerts and reminders. You can use the default sounds from the program or record your own voice (using Windows’ recording tool), save it on your computer, and then select its location using the Browse button. You can click the Play button to preview it.
– Sleep Options: Click the Set Time button to specify at what time the computer will automatically execute one of the predefined commands, such as: Shut down, log off, restart, or power off.
After setting everything up, click the Start button to activate the program.
