Renowned designer Jozeph Forakis has unveiled the concept of a luxurious super yacht entirely made of mirrored glass, designed to reflect its surroundings. Named Pegasus, this super yacht measures 88 meters in length and is also considered an “invisible yacht in both design and environmental impact.”
The Pegasus yacht will be equipped with solar panels hidden around and above the ship’s deck, providing solar energy for the yacht’s operations, alongside a hybrid hydro-electric propulsion system. The energy harvested from the solar panels will be used to power electrolysis machines that extract hydrogen from seawater.

Subsequently, the electricity generated will be stored in Li-ion batteries to power the azimuth thrusters – a type of propulsion system where the propellers are placed in a pod that can rotate in any direction on a horizontal plane, eliminating the need for a traditional rudder.
The super yacht will be constructed using robotic 3D printing technology to create a lattice frame for the entire vessel, making it the first yacht in the world built with this technology. According to designer Jozeph Forakis, this will result in an extremely strong yet lightweight structure that can be built using less energy, materials, waste, space, and time compared to conventional shipbuilding methods.

The yacht boasts a minimalist design that reflects life in nature. Inside, there is a series of vibrant green plants, while the exterior offers unobstructed views of the ocean in all directions. The yacht’s interior spans four levels, connected by a sculptural spiral staircase, featuring spacious lounges. Additionally, Pegasus includes a multi-level hydroponic garden called the “Tree of Life”, which runs vertically across all four decks, providing fresh produce and improving air quality aboard.

On the top deck, Pegasus features a master bedroom with a spacious private terrace, accessible only to the yacht’s owner. Finally, the swimming pool located at the bow of the yacht is designed like an aquarium, with two transparent side walls. When closed, the pool cover functions as a helipad.

Currently, the price of this super yacht has not been disclosed, but it is certainly aimed at the extremely wealthy. Pegasus is being prepared for presentation to potential shipyards and could enter production by 2030.
