The Southern Molecular Biotechnology Company (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) has successfully researched and developed a kit for quantifying the HIV virus in blood. Through this kit, laboratories can quantify the HIV virus using Real-time PCR technology.
As a result, doctors monitoring treatment can determine whether the prescribed medication will increase or decrease the amount of HIV virus in the blood, allowing for more effective treatment strategies.
Currently, the National Institute of Public Health of Cambodia has ordered these test kits to conduct 20,000 tests on patients.
