On the evening of September 30, the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology for the year 2005 were solemnly awarded at the Ba Dinh Hall in Hanoi.
Attending the ceremony were President Tran Duc Luong and approximately 500 officials from the science and technology sector. The Ho Chi Minh Prize was awarded to 12 projects and project clusters, which include: the National Atlas of Vietnam; the Vietnam War and the U.S. Economy; the construction of the VN-2000 reference system and coordinate system and the application of Global Positioning System (GPS) for surveying and mapping in our country; regarding Vietnamese military art, which consists of 8 books: Studying Soviet Military Science; On the Use of Troops; The Defeat of an Unjust Power; The Great Victory of the Central Highlands Campaign; Our Ancestors Fighting Enemies; Understanding Some Issues about Commanding Art; Art of Combat; Several Issues on Military Art…
Additionally, 41 projects and project clusters were awarded the State Prize, which are also characterized by their connection to life and production. The Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize are the two highest awards for science and technology in our country. Out of 54 proposed projects, 53 received awards.
