Imagine what our homes would be like on other planets.
Collection of Homes on Planets in the Solar System
1. Mercury
Mercury experiences extreme temperature changes, meteor showers, earthquakes, and sunlight that is seven times stronger than that on Earth. If you want to live on Mercury, you should create an underground bunker.
2. Venus
Venus is close to the sun, making it extremely hot. It is one of the harshest places in the Solar System. Venus is quite similar to Earth in terms of gravity and atmospheric pressure. Therefore, to avoid touching the surface, you might have to live in an airship that floats above the planet, protected by solar panels.
3. Pluto
Pluto is freezing cold and entirely covered in ice. Homes made of vertical ice could prevent radiation. If you live here, you will need a smart heating system that doesn’t melt the ice.
4. Jupiter
Jupiter is a giant gas planet, making it very difficult to live on. You would need a special airship capable of floating on Jupiter’s thick clouds and a sturdy protective dome.
5. Saturn
Saturn, like other large gas planets, does not have a solid surface. Therefore, you cannot live on Saturn itself; instead, your home would be a bubble-like structure floating in Saturn’s atmosphere. Additionally, you will need a protective tent above, as it experiences diamond rain.
6. Uranus and Neptune
Uranus and Neptune are water-rich planets, primarily composed of liquid and lacking a solid surface. You would definitely need a submarine to live here. The gravitational force on these planets is stronger than that on Earth, and the pressure is also higher. The walls of your home should be insulated with Aerogel, and every room must have sufficient light and heat.
7. Mars
Architects have already designed homes that we could inhabit on Mars. The shell-like structure would withstand Mars’ dust storms while maintaining daylight. It would also feature an interior garden, allowing you to grow plants and food.
