These are the Scanjet 7800 (Sheet-feed type), Scanjet 8300, Scanjet 8350, and Scanjet 8390 models. These scanners will officially launch at the ComputerWorld Expo 2006 in Ho Chi Minh City this July.
Some new features of these scanners – according to Mr. Irving Oh, General Director of the Printing and Printing Solutions Group at HP Vietnam – include a significant improvement in machine speed, thanks to HP’s Instant-on technology (no startup required), allowing the device to operate immediately after pressing the button without waiting for the warm-up light.

Mr. Irving Oh also mentioned that these new products are suitable for businesses that need to handle large volumes of paperwork, such as insurance companies, logistics, accounting, transportation, government organizations, healthcare, and real estate.
Scanjet 7800 Sheet-feed Scanner: Can scan both sides of a page in one pass at a speed of 50 images per minute (25 pages per minute) with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, ideal for managing various documents, business cards, checks, etc.
Scanjet 8300 Image Scanner: Offers high resolution and is specifically designed for graphic professionals. This model can also send emails, scan to PDF files, and copy. The Scanjet 8300 employs HP’s three-sensor scanning technology, allowing for fast and quiet operation.
Scanjet 8350 Document Scanner: Scans documents at a speed of 25 pages per minute, with a 100-sheet automatic document feeder.
Scanjet 8390 Document Scanner: Designed for office use, its primary function is document management. It is currently HP’s fastest scanner, capable of scanning approximately 35 pages per minute for single-sided and about 70 images per minute for double-sided scanning.
All these machines come with a one-year warranty. Mr. Irving noted that HP offers a competitive price for this new product line, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Vietnamese market.
According to data from InfoTrends Research Group Inc., the global scanner market is expected to grow by approximately 54% in 2006. HP currently ranks second in workgroup scanners, holding 20-30% market share in North America and 25-30% in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the Asia-Pacific region, HP’s market share also shows steady growth.
