According to HP’s announcement, in 2005, sales of HP Integrity server solutions in the Asia-Pacific region and Japan exceeded 500 million USD. Over 8,000 servers and solutions such as software, HP storage systems, and hardware services were selected and implemented by more than 1,000 customers from key industries across the Asia-Pacific region.
Currently, an increasing number of businesses in the region are interested in the flexibility of the HP Integrity server line in supporting multiple platforms. This flexibility was enhanced in 2005 to meet the challenges of information lifecycle management and the growing demands of customers.
Among the more than 7,600 software applications available on the market that run on HP Integrity servers, 450 applications were developed by partners in the Asia-Pacific region. Global sales of HP Integrity servers increased by 81% in 2005 compared to 2004, with Integrity solutions generating 1.6 billion USD in revenue during the 2005 fiscal year.
According to a recent IDC report, HP leads the Asia-Pacific region (including Japan) in EPIC servers, which utilize Itanium 2 processors. Additionally, HP is also the leading provider of high-end Unix servers in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Peter Hall, Vice President and General Manager of the Business Critical Systems Division within HP’s Technology Solutions Group for Asia-Pacific, stated: “In 2006, HP will continue to enhance the value and business capabilities of Integrity server solutions by further improving flexibility, security, and simplifying the management of Integrity servers.”
