A recent solar storm has created mesmerizing auroras around the North and South Poles of Earth.
Energy bursts and coronal mass ejections from the Sun have allowed the auroras to be visible further south than usual.
According to the Space Weather Prediction Center (USA), this solar storm is expected to be less intense than the one that occurred in May, but it could still disrupt communications, power grids, and satellite operations.
Even when the auroras are not clearly visible, nighttime sky photographs can capture colors that are not perceivable to the naked eye.
