On December 6th, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and Intel Vietnam officially launched the program Intel Teach to the Future in Vietnam, following the successful pilot of this initiative since 2003.
It is anticipated that by 2009, 30,000 teachers nationwide will participate in this program. Both Intel and the MoET are confident that this program, which has successfully engaged three million teachers worldwide, will help develop a skilled workforce essential for ensuring the growth and prosperity of Vietnam’s economy in the future.
In 2005, 2,340 teachers participated in the Intel Teach to the Future program since it was officially piloted in Vietnam in collaboration with the MoET. Given the very positive results obtained after this pilot phase, the Ministry decided to officially implement the program nationwide, starting from the 2005 academic year.
Intel Teach to the Future operates on a “train the trainers” model. The workshops within the Intel Teach to the Future program will guide teachers on how to utilize the Internet, design websites, and use multimedia communication software in lessons based on a highly interactive project model. After participating in the workshops, teachers will gain solid knowledge in developing lesson plans that enhance students’ learning experiences through the use of technology.
Established in 2000, the Intel Teach to the Future program has trained over three million teachers in 36 countries. More information can be found at www.intel.com/education
