From 2017 to 2020, this nuclear power plant is expected to be safely and effectively operated, featuring 2 units, each with a capacity of 1,000 MW. This will gradually raise the share of nuclear power to a reasonable level within the national electricity production (11% by 2025, and 25-30% by 2040-2050).
To prepare for the development of nuclear energy in Vietnam, an International Nuclear Power Exhibition 2006 themed “Safety and Economic Competitiveness of Nuclear Power 2006” will take place from May 16 to 19 at the Friendship Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hanoi.
This will be the first exhibition with in-depth content on safety and economic competitiveness of nuclear power, featuring participation from four countries: South Korea, Russia, Japan, and France – countries that have advanced scientific and technological achievements in nuclear energy.
Within the framework of the exhibition, there will be an international dialogue on the theme “Safety and Economic Competitiveness of Nuclear Power” and three specialized workshops conducted by the participating countries.
