On December 10, the People’s Committee of Da Lat City and representatives from the Danish Government inaugurated the first wastewater treatment plant in this city of Lam Dong Province. This is a key component of the Da Lat sanitation project, a collaboration between the governments of Vietnam and Denmark that has been implemented in Da Lat since 2003, with a total investment of 321 billion VND.
The wastewater treatment plant is built on an area of over 6 hectares, with a filtration capacity of 7,400 cubic meters per day, and a total investment of over 120 billion VND. Utilizing mechanical and biological wastewater treatment technologies according to European standards, the discharged water meets the B-TCVN standards.
The operation of this plant has put an end to the rampant discharge of domestic wastewater as seen currently, eliminating serious pollution that has persisted for decades in areas such as Phan Dinh Phung Stream (right in the center of Da Lat) and Cam Ly Waterfall…
Along with the construction of this centralized wastewater treatment system, the Da Lat sanitation project has also built 6,300 sanitation facilities for the suburban areas of Da Lat to ensure the cleanliness of the natural environment here.
