The world’s leading microprocessor manufacturer has confirmed that they will not accept contracts related to the dual-core product line manufactured using the 65 nm technology starting from June 30 of this year.
Last month, Intel announced that they would not upgrade the 920 to the C-1 Core (currently B-1), implicitly indicating that this line of chips would not last long.
Other 9xx series models, such as the 930, 940, and 950, will continue to see improvements, but their prices will significantly decrease next month in preparation for the launch of the 960.
Intel hopes to ship the Pentium D 960, with a speed of 3.6 GHz, by April 30 at a price of $530, which is lower than the $637 price point typically set during the release of high-end processing units, including the Pentium D 950, which runs at 3.4 GHz.
