On March 4th, a Space Education Forum was organized in Hanoi by UNESCO, the Asia-Pacific Space Agency Forum, and the Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology.
At the forum, over 100 students from various schools in Hanoi were introduced by experts to the benefits of peaceful space exploration, achievements in space exploration, and were guided in practical activities such as building water rocket models and using telescopes.
On this occasion, UNESCO also presented Vietnam with six small handheld telescopes manufactured by Meade Instruments (USA).
The Space Education Forum was initiated in 2002 based on the call from the World Conference on Science in Budapest in 1999 and the UNISPACE-III Conference in Vienna in 1999.
The forum aims to provide opportunities for the younger generation to understand space science and the importance of space science for human development.
After Hanoi, the Space Education Forum will also be held in Hue on March 6th and in Ho Chi Minh City on March 8th.
