Belgian scientists have recently proposed the idea of implanting identification chips into teeth—something you would never lose or forget to carry, unless you lose your teeth.
They claim that these identification chips would be very useful for forensic doctors in identifying bodies after natural disasters and terrorist attacks with many victims. The chips can carry personal information such as name, nationality, date of birth, gender, and identification number.
The Belgian scientists have tested drilling a hole in a tooth to implant the identification chip. The chip can withstand chewing forces and remains operational even after being heated to 450oC.
