Chinese scientists have successfully created and launched a giant thermometer tree that stands 45 meters tall, believed to be the largest in China and possibly the largest in the world today.

This thermometer tree is currently located in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province. The local residents take great pride in this giant thermometer and view it as a unique piece of art representing the city of Shenyang.
The giant thermometer is situated atop the highest observatory in Shenyang, which is approximately 18 stories high. People can read the temperature displayed on this thermometer from a distance of 500 to 800 meters.
The temperature sensor in the thermometer transmits the collected data to a processing computer, which then automatically adjusts the “mercury column” of the thermometer according to the surrounding temperature. This thermometer can accurately measure temperatures ranging from -35°C to +40°C.
Jiang Xinhua, one of the engineers involved in the creation of the thermometer, mentioned that the cost of this giant thermometer is relatively low, at around 500,000 Chinese Yuan, equivalent to approximately 62,500 USD.
