The organizing committee announced that, compared to the 2005 competition, the Vietnamese Talents 2006 has made several adjustments to its criteria and regulations. The submitted products will be divided into two categories:
The first category includes products that have been validated, used for a long time, and widely applied in practice. The level of practical application is demonstrated by economic contracts signed with customers currently using the contest products. For internal application products without economic contracts, verification from the managing unit is required.
Contest products for the Vietnamese Talents competition are not limited to just ideas or software; they must be completed products that extend into hardware, software, network solutions, and technology integration. In 2005, there were 174 products submitted in these fields. |
The second category consists of completed products that are potentially applicable and have only been tested on a small scale.
The preliminary council will select 10 products from each category to advance to the final round. Each product category will have a set of awards, including: a first prize worth 100 million VND, a second prize of 50 million VND, a third prize of 30 million VND, and encouragement awards.
The organizing committee hopes that this year’s competition (with the submission deadline until August 31, 2006, and awards presented on November 20, 2006) “will honor more talents who have made practical contributions to life” and identify the highest award-winning products (compared to 2005, where only the second prize was the highest). Professor and Academician Nguyen Van Hieu will continue as the Chairman of the final council.
During this morning’s launch ceremony, a notable absence was the contestants from the 2005 Vietnamese Talents competition. However, according to the organizing committee, following the launch, there will be exchanges with university students and interested individuals in localities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Thai Nguyen, and Khanh Hoa.
