At 8:10 PM on December 20, the VinFuture Award Ceremony will take place in Hanoi and will be broadcast live on VTV1, CNN’s website, Discovery, Euronews, Technode Global.
According to the organizers, international scientists are on their way to Hanoi to prepare for the 2nd VinFuture Award Ceremony. The event will be held at 8:10 PM on December 20 at the Hanoi Opera House. Vietnamese and global audiences can watch the award ceremony live on VTV1, the websites of international media channels such as CNN, Discovery, Euronews, TechNode Global, and many other social media platforms. The program will also be live-streamed on VnExpress.

Entering its second year, the VinFuture Award has received 970 nominations from 71 countries, 1.5 times more than the first edition. With the theme “Revival and Reconstruction,” VinFuture 2022 will honor four scientific projects that significantly impact the lives of millions during and after the pandemic. This includes one main award worth $3 million and three special awards of $500,000 each in three categories: Female Scientist, Scientist from Developing Countries, and Scientist researching Pioneer Fields.
Professor Sir Richard Henry Friend, Chairman of the VinFuture Award Council, revealed that the nominations for the 2022 season are of very high quality. He considers the project winning the $3 million award to be a breakthrough achievement with a broad global impact, benefiting millions.
“The potential impact of this project on humanity in the near future is certainly very significant,” Professor Sir Richard shared.
Additionally, the scientific community predicts that this year, projects related to environmental issues, food security, precision medicine, new technologies for restoring hearing and vision, and nanotechnology applied in recovery from injuries will have many opportunities to win awards.

At the award ceremony, alongside scientists and influential figures in the global research community, including recipients of prestigious awards such as the Nobel Prize, Millennium Technology Prize, and Turing Award, the VinFuture stage for its second season will feature diva Christina Aguilera. The five-time Grammy winner and one of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of All Time (Billboard) will offer audiences a high-class performance alongside many renowned artists such as conductor Honna Tetsuji, artist Bui Cong Duy, artist Dong Quang Vinh, artist Linh Nga, and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra…
After the VinFuture 2022 Award Ceremony, the Vietnamese public will have the opportunity to meet and listen to the award-winning scientists share their research journeys during a discussion session on the morning of December 21. Notably, the award recipients will participate in a presentation on the application of scientific breakthroughs in the process of reconstructing and reviving society post-pandemic, specifically for the younger research generation, students, and representatives from businesses and startup communities.
