In the clip, two lionesses are attempting to attack a mother and her calf. It is evident that lions are skilled predators, adept at using the terrain to their advantage when hunting.
Realizing they could not take down the mother buffalo, the two hunters decided to go after the vulnerable calf, which posed an easier target. While one lioness distracted the mother buffalo, the other seized the opportunity to pounce on the calf.
The mother buffalo charges to warn the two lions to stay away from her calf.
Just when it seemed the hunt was over, the mother buffalo unexpectedly turned around and charged at the hunter to reclaim her young. She even pursued the lions to warn them not to touch her calf.
As a result, the mother and calf wildebeest managed to escape unharmed and leisurely moved back towards their herd.
African wildebeests are herbivorous animals known for their robust bodies. They are often referred to as “death buffalo” or “black death.” Their unpredictable and aggressive nature makes them particularly dangerous. When provoked, wildebeests are willing to fight even against large predators like lions.
