MACWORLD is buzzing with a series of new and unique products. On January 11, Tekkeon unveiled the myTalker, an assistive device for hearing and answering calls for iPod users.
The myTalker is the first Bluetooth connection gateway that allows users to use headphones to make or receive phone calls while listening to music on their iPod or MP3 player.
The myTalker connects the iPod or MP3 player with music headphones and links to any mobile phone that supports Bluetooth, functioning similarly to a Bluetooth headset. Incoming calls can be heard directly through the iPod headphones, and users can speak via the myTalker microphone, which can be attached to a collar.
The buttons on the myTalker allow users to adjust the volume and utilize advanced calling features such as redial, voice dialing, conferencing, and call waiting. Users will receive notifications about the status of the myTalker and battery capacity through a reporting system.
The myTalker battery provides up to 5 hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby time. It can be charged via USB port or a USB power adapter using a USB cable. Weighing only 33g with a compact design, the myTalker is compatible with all iPod models and any MP3 player equipped with a standard audio jack, as well as any Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 mobile phone.
Main Features: One-touch access to standard and advanced calling features (also requires support from the mobile phone):
- Answer / End calls
- Reject calls
- Hold calls
- Conference calls
- Call waiting
- Redial the last number
- Transfer calls to/from myTalker
