You are not required to count calories; you can indulge in food while still losing 5-6 kg and remain carefree about stress levels. Experts have designed specific dietary plans for each blood type.
According to nutrition expert James D’Adamo, not all physical activities (and not all foods) benefit health equally. Familiarize yourself with the guiding principles of this simple dietary approach. Serious adherence will be the key to success. The recommendations vary for each blood type:
Blood Type O
This is the most common blood type, accounting for nearly half of the world’s population (approximately 43%). They have a higher level of digestive acids in their stomachs, making their bodies more receptive to protein-rich products, such as various meats and fish.
Recommended foods: Beef, veal, poultry, fish, avocado, white cheese, rice, whole grain bread, rice noodles, beans, broccoli, onions, cabbage, peppers, honey, carrots, tomatoes, salad, bananas, lemons, grapes, pomelos, apples, green tea…
Foods to avoid: Pork, white bread, pastries made from wheat flour, corn, milk, yellow cheese, potatoes.
Best exercises: Aerobics, swimming, cycling, dancing, weight training.
Blood Type A
Comprising about 30% of the population. Unlike Type O, which is more meat-loving, individuals with Type A have a lower concentration of digestive acids, making it harder for them to digest meat. Apart from wheat, Type A individuals digest carbohydrate-rich products and vegetables very well. They should avoid high-fat foods.
Recommended foods: Poultry, fish, yogurt, goat cheese, beans, corn, rice, broccoli, salad, carrots, honey, pomelos, pineapples, lemons, grapes, apples, pears, green tea, coffee.
Foods to avoid: Pork, beef, milk, butter, yellow cheese, white cheese, white bread, noodles, peppers, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, bananas, oranges, Coca-Cola, tea, beer.
Best exercises: Should be gentle and relaxing. At least three times a week of swimming and dancing.
Blood Type B
Although it is not very common (only about 18%), individuals with Type B blood have a strong immune resistance, even to digestive diseases. Their bodies can easily tolerate meat, cow’s milk, and dairy products, as well as starchy foods. They should only avoid tomatoes and foods that release sugar into the bloodstream quickly.
Recommended foods: Veal, turkey, beef, seafood, chicken eggs, yellow and white cheese, yogurt, cow’s milk, beans, noodles, radishes, peppers, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, bananas, grapes, lemons, honey, apples, green tea…
Foods to avoid: Pork, chicken, corn, wheat-based products, peanuts, sunflower seeds, sesame, Coca-Cola, carbonated drinks.
Best exercises: Alternate between vigorous activities and relaxation, such as aerobics, tennis, yoga, walking, cycling.
Blood Type AB
This is the rarest blood type (only about 5%). These individuals are sensitive because their stomachs do not produce enough digestive acids, leading to frequent digestive issues and anxiety.
Therefore, people with blood type AB should divide their meals into several smaller portions (even five meals a day). They should also limit hard-to-digest, protein-rich products (except for fish, cow’s milk, and cheese). It is important to consume more digestive-supporting foods like yogurt…
Recommended foods: All products suitable for blood type B along with the restrictions for blood type A.
Foods to avoid: Corn and corn-based products, vinegar, spicy condiments.
Best exercises: Physical exercises like aerobics alternating with relaxing activities, such as swimming and walking.
