In essence, Flyakite functions similarly to the Longhorn Transformation Pack, capable of completely transforming the interface of an operating system while maintaining the system’s stability. One could argue that Flyakite excels in its beautiful and attractive aesthetics, drawing inspiration from Apple’s latest operating system, MacOS Tiger, compared to Microsoft’s Windows Longhorn.
Completely free of charge, Flyakite 2.0 operates stably and is highly compatible with demanding operating systems like Windows XP (Home, Pro, RTM, SP1, SP2, Corporate), Windows 2003 (Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Web, RTM, SP1), and Windows Media Center Edition (2003, 2004, 2005). These are significant advantages that set Flyakite apart from other software with similar functionalities. You can download the program from: http://www.aqua-soft.org or http://www.aquaxp.com, with a file size of approximately 25.8 MB.
The installation process is straightforward, but you need to pay attention. Since it alters crucial components of the Windows operating system, such as dynamic link library files (uxtheme.dll; shell32.dll, etc.) and icon files (*.cpl), along with executable files to change the interface to MacOS while preserving normal operational capabilities, Flyakite 2.0 will require you to create a System Restore Point to back up these files in case of any issues. It is highly recommended that you accept this request from the program. If you decline, Flyakite 2.0 will still proceed, but if problems arise, your only option would be to restore your computer using Ghost. However, the likelihood of encountering issues is very low, although not impossible.
During installation, you should select all additional components in the Extra Software section. Notably, the RK Launcher by RaduKing is designed to be much more aesthetically pleasing and functional than Stardock’s ObjectDock. Therefore, it is advisable to choose it and accept the other requests to complete the installation process. Afterward, you will need to restart your computer for the adjustments to take effect.
Right at the Boot screen, you will notice the familiar Apple logo of MacOS with a gray tone instead of the usual Windows logo. Next, the login screen has also been modified to appear simple yet beautiful. Once you reach the Windows working screen, you will be even more surprised by its beauty. The icons for important components such as Network Connection, Control Panel, System Properties, and familiar programs like Word and Excel are all replaced with icons designed to reflect the MacOS style.
With the additional components selected during installation, the flashy exterior offered by Flyakite 2.0 is enhanced:
– The WinRoll component by Wil Palma provides quick roll-up functionality for any window’s content when you right-click on the title bar.
– The iColorFolder component by KemenAran allows you to change the color of any folder by right-clicking. The process is simple: right-click on any folder in Windows Explorer, select the Color Label tab, and choose the desired color.
– The Y’z Shadows component by M. Yamaguchi adds an extra aesthetic layer to the MacOS interface by introducing a shadow feature for Windows. To access the settings for Flyakite 2.0, double-click on the computer icon located on the Taskbar. The Y’z Shadow settings screen includes four feature tabs, but you should focus on the Drop Shadow tab, which allows you to modify and select the color or position of the shadow using parameters like Top, Right, Bottom, Depth, etc., and the Menu tab that enables you to adjust the transparency of submenus in the operating system.
– The RK Launcher by RaduKing provides you with a stunning 3D toolbar. It will be surprising to see that when you hover your mouse over this toolbar area, the pre-designed icons with high-quality images will enlarge, and moving between icons feels like rotating a compass. You simply need to drag the icon of the necessary program into this toolbar.
