Matsushita Electric’s new laptop model, the parent company of the Panasonic brand, will continue to function “perfectly” even when a full glass of water is spilled onto the keyboard, the company announced.
According to Matsushita, the new Let’s Note CF-Y5 laptop is equipped with a waterproof membrane and a special drying system to protect the hard drive and motherboard from short-circuiting due to water exposure. However, of course, if you submerge the CF-Y5 in a sink for several hours, no system can withstand that.
The product is expected to hit the Japanese market on May 19, priced at a hefty $2,300.
Matsushita hopes that the CF-Y5 will help regain market share in the laptop sector, as competitors from South Korea, China, and Taiwan continue to grow and compete fiercely.
