Yesterday (July 10), electronics manufacturer Matsushita announced that it will officially begin selling the world’s largest plasma television in the market at the beginning of next year.
Matsushita is a well-known manufacturer of electronic devices under the Panasonic brand and is also one of the largest consumer electronics manufacturers in the world.
Measuring 2.4 x 1.4 meters and weighing 215 kg, Matsushita’s 103-inch plasma television is larger than a standard double bed mattress and weighs about the same as a grand piano.
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the expected price for this latest product.
The plasma TV model from Matsushita is just 1 inch larger than a similar model from Samsung. However, Samsung has not yet released its 102-inch plasma TV for commercial sale.
Matsushita also stated that they have started accepting orders for the 103-inch plasma TV in the U.S. market. The manufacturer anticipates selling around 5,000 units of this type each year.
