Samsung Electronics is set to launch its Ultramobile PC product – Origami – next month.
Origami is a new device concept that originates from the tech giant Microsoft.
However, Samsung has not disclosed any specific details about its upcoming product. What is known is the exact date of Origami’s release – May 1, 2006.
In March at the CeBIT exhibition in Germany, Samsung showcased its Origami device, an event that put an end to the public speculation surrounding Origami.
Both Microsoft and Intel have plans to develop similar products to Samsung’s, hoping that these products will be more affordable and offer up to one day of battery life.
Samsung’s product will run a customized version of Microsoft’s Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, along with specialized software designed for input via a stylus and accessing multimedia files.
