Geneticists have recently stated that mutations causing severe changes to chromosomes make it difficult for those affected to be considered human. In Yerevan, Armenia, an 18-year-old girl named Narine Aivasyan has shocked doctors with her unusual condition.

Narine is slowly turning into a cactus |
She came to the hospital with an abscess on her wrist caused by an old injury. When the doctors removed the bandage from Narine’s arm, they noticed two very thin cactus spines growing from her wrist. Narine recounted that while watering her houseplants, some cactus thorns had pricked her wrist. Her parents disinfected the wound, but it continued to fester and spread. Reluctantly, Narine went to the hospital. The doctors easily removed the foreign objects from her wrist, but many other cactus spines immediately grew back in the same spot.
The head of the virus and immunity research center in Armenia, Tigran Davtya, stated that the medical world has never encountered a type of plant cell that could grow and parasitize the human or animal body. Further studies on the cactus spines removed from the girl confirmed their plant origin.
The only way to save the girl was to perform surgery to cut the fistula and prevent the cactus from parasitizing her body. Four years have passed since the surgery, and the wound has closed without causing her further problems. However, one day Narine’s wrist swelled again, and she horrifiedly felt a cactus branch growing from her arm. This time, the fistula appeared at the tendon. Each day, doctors had to remove between 70 to 100 cactus spines from her arm. But soon after, they would reappear. Doctors from many countries have intervened, yet nothing has changed.
As they studied the cactus spines taken from the girl, one conclusion emerged that they no longer had a plant origin. This was a result of mutation; the patient had new cells that had never been identified, some of which were hybrids between human and plant cells. In other words, the young girl was gradually turning into a cactus.
Experts believe this horrifying transformation serves as a warning to humanity. Tigran Davtya stated: “The evolution is severely undermining the human immune system. Humans are becoming more vulnerable to attacks from viruses and parasites.”
Now, at 26 years old, she lives as if in limbo, no longer expecting any scientific miracles, as medicine has given up on her case.
In Kazakhstan, a woman in a remote area gave birth to a third child who is not normal. The baby is covered in hair from head to toe. The only thing resembling a normal baby is its cries. Ayaulym, the mother, did not reject her child. She brought the boy back to the village to raise him. It wasn’t until he was five years old that she took him to see a doctor. Initially, they thought she had brought in a monkey for treatment. However, this condition has some possible treatments. Experts explain this phenomenon is closely related to nuclear testing areas. There are 19 such areas in Kazakhstan.
Researchers are sounding the alarm that while science is advancing, it cannot keep pace with the changes in nature, partly due to human impact, such as nuclear testing and genetically modified foods. At some point, humans and nature may swap places.
