Boost Noodle is a new type of ramen, designed for busy customers who can eat with one hand by sucking the contents from a small cup.
Instant ramen is arguably one of the most convenient foods, but a Japanese company has found a way to help customers enjoy this dish even more easily.
The company Nippon Ham recently launched Boost Noodle, an enticing pork ramen designed for gamers looking to satisfy their hunger without pausing their competition.

Boost Noodle is packaged in a convenient cup and can be eaten with one hand by sucking the inner contents.
Boost Noodle features a special type of yam noodles, chashu pork, menma (fermented bamboo shoots), and a blend of pork and seafood broth. Each Boost Noodle cup also contains 35 milligrams of caffeine.
According to Nippon Ham, the idea for Boost Noodle came from a young employee who enjoys long gaming sessions. This individual noted that gamers want to eat while playing without risking their expensive equipment or spending too much, but they also want alternatives to protein bars and jerky typically consumed during gaming. It sounds like a straightforward proposition for a noodle company, but bringing this product to market took two years.
The biggest challenge Nippon Ham faced was finding a way to keep the noodles intact in the broth mixture. Ultimately, the company used konnyaku yam noodles in a thicker broth, in a “semi-gelatinous” form. The sterilized ramen can be stored at room temperature for up to 90 days.
Although primarily produced to meet the needs of gamers, Boost Noodle has also attracted many customers looking to enjoy a hearty snack that can be eaten with one hand, including those who frequently use smartphones.
Nippon Ham launched Boost Noodle at the end of July, priced at 660 yen (approximately 100,000 VND) per cup.
