Starting from May 22, the world’s largest software company, Microsoft, will initiate a trial program called FlexGo, which applies the pre-paid card system for using computers, similar to mobile phone usage.
This initiative is part of Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to provide low-income customers in developing countries with access to computers, while also enhancing the company’s business opportunities in these regions.
The program will first be introduced in Brazil and will subsequently be promoted in Mexico, China, Russia, and India three months later.
To use the FlexGo program, customers will only need to pay half of the computer’s purchase price. However, to utilize the computer, they must buy access cards that are billed by the hour. Once the usage time on the card is exhausted, the computer will stop functioning until a new card is purchased.
