Yesterday (November 30), Microsoft officially introduced its products including SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, and BizTalk Server 2006 in Vietnam. Notably, the Express editions of SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 will be offered for free online. 
Mr. Christophe Desriac, Microsoft’s representative in Vietnam, stated that these new products will provide tools with many new features for software developers, built on the Windows 2003 and Microsoft.NET platforms.
Visual Studio 2005 offers an extended toolset including the Visual Studio Team System, a platform with a lifecycle that allows collaboration among software development teams to deliver modern service-oriented solutions. SQL Server 2005 provides an integrated data management and analysis platform that helps companies control their information and synchronize applications for business. With the reporting analysis tools available in this database server product, businesses can achieve better decision-making support from their business information.
BizTalk Server 2006 software enables businesses to monitor, manage, and deploy critical and rapid business processes. “We will add 16 new integrated drivers in the standard and enterprise editions of BizTalk Server 2006 at no cost. Detailed information is available at microsoft.com/presspass,” the head of Microsoft Vietnam revealed.
According to Mr. Christophe Desriac, the standard version of SQL Server software has four different price points, ranging from 900 USD to 26,000 USD, depending on customer selection. The most professional version of Visual Studio 2005 is priced at 4,000 USD. Individual applications have prices of 49 USD, 600 USD, and 799 USD. “Specifically in the Vietnamese market, we will reduce the price of the Visual Studio 2005 suite by 50% for a three-month usage period,” Mr. Christophe Desriac confirmed.
