Next Tuesday (May 9), Microsoft is expected to announce three patches for its products, including at least two critical security updates addressing known vulnerabilities.
Specifically, one patch will be for Microsoft Exchange messaging server; the other two will include at least one for Windows. All patches are aimed at high-severity vulnerabilities.
On the same day, May 9, Microsoft plans to upgrade the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool through Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services, Download Center, and Software Update Services.
Traditionally, Microsoft releases patches on the second Tuesday of each month. Also following this tradition, there are usually vulnerabilities found in Microsoft products each month, most of which are critical and have a significant impact on consumers. The most recent issues include two vulnerabilities in the Internet Explorer browser that could potentially corrupt PC memory through attacks via specially crafted web pages.
