The security company Secunia has issued an urgent recommendation for Firefox fans to download the latest version, Firefox 1.5.0.4, immediately. The 5 security vulnerabilities mentioned are classified as “very serious,” allowing attackers to infiltrate systems and deploy malware. Some other vulnerabilities also enable attackers to execute malicious JavaScript code on computers.
As part of this upgrade for Firefox, Mozilla has also released a patch for 8 security vulnerabilities in their email client, Thunderbird, specifically in the latest version, Thunderbird 1.5.0.4.
