According to Newsweek, sightings of UFOs have been reported in Ukraine and Finland, as well as in cities across Arizona and California in the United States.
Interest in Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs, peaked last year after several experts testified before a U.S. congressional committee in July 2023, stating that these phenomena could pose a threat to national security.
A Gallup poll conducted in 2021 revealed that 41% of Americans believe that alien spacecraft have visited Earth, marking an increase of 8% from 33% in 2019.
This week, many users on X (formerly Twitter) shared videos and images of UFOs.

“Someone please tell me this isn’t a UFO… The sky is completely clear and I see a super faint white light that doesn’t look like a plane coming towards me. Then, it shot straight up into the sky and disappeared,” stated a user on X on May 3.
Another X user shared they had “seen something similar” in Arizona. “It came from the west, it hovered and appeared to be surrounded by a fog, then suddenly disappeared. I’m so glad someone else caught it on camera,” they added.
“I saw a UFO in Santa Barbara. The sky was clear, you could even see the stars, but there was some kind of fog around the object,” reported another X user.
“UFO in Palm Springs tonight. I just recorded this on my iPhone 14 in Palm Springs with no clouds covering. Then, it vanished,” said another user.
A similar object was spotted in Helsinki, Finland, according to footage shared on Reddit.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Alpha Centauri, a non-profit educational project, reported on X that a mysterious white light was detected in several regions of the country on the evening of May 2 (local time).

“Mysterious objects have appeared again in the sky over Ukraine,” Alpha Centauri wrote, suggesting that this could be footage of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket carrying satellites into space.
