On September 12, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the Europa Clipper spacecraft, tasked with exploring Jupiter’s icy moon Europa, has successfully completed a crucial test this week and is scheduled for official launch on October 10.
Specifically, the Europa Clipper flew past the critical milestone known as “Key Decision Point E” on September 9, which is a significant progression allowing for the continuation of subsequent phases of the mission.
The main objective of the Europa Clipper is to determine whether Europa possesses conditions suitable for life.
NASA has stated that the spacecraft will conduct dozens of flybys of Europa to gather detailed data for research purposes.
