On June 7th, the National Scientific Conference on Hematology and Blood Transfusion was held in Hue. Hundreds of scientists from countries such as Germany, Belgium, Austria, the United States, Australia, Japan, and China, along with representatives from the WHO in Vietnam and delegates from 61 provinces across the country, attended the event.
Over 100 presentations and research projects covering various specialized fields within hematology and blood transfusion were shared at the conference. Topics included pathological issues and treatments for blood disorders, hematopoietic organs, hemostasis, immunity, genetics, molecular biology, and blood transfusion processes including tissue modeling, collection, production of blood products, and quality control.
In recent years, the volunteer blood donation movement in our country has seen significant progress. The socialization of this movement has begun to succeed, resulting in a safer and higher quality supply of blood for patients. Some localities have achieved a volunteer blood donation rate of 80-90%, contributing to improved healthcare services for the public.
On this occasion, the conference honored scientists, people’s physicians, and outstanding physicians who have made significant contributions to the field of hematology and blood transfusion.
