Pearl measures only 9.14 cm tall, breaking the previous record of 9.65 cm held by her “aunt,” Miracle Milly, another Chihuahua who passed away in 2020, prior to Pearl’s birth. Pearl was born to one of Milly’s identical sisters.
Like her relative, Pearl weighed less than 28 grams at birth. To date, she weighs just 553 grams and is 12.7 cm long, about the size of a one-dollar bill.
Pearl’s record-breaking height was measured at the veterinary hospital where she was born: Crystal Creek Animal Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Giovanni Vergel used a specialized measuring device and conducted three separate measurements with short breaks in between to ensure the most accurate results.
“I feel so lucky to have Pearl and want to share this wonderful news with the world,” said her owner, Vanesa Semler, in an interview.

Vanesa describes her pet as being like a small ball and mentions that she is even shorter than a teacup. Unusually for a Chihuahua, Pearl has a very calm temperament and is not at all fazed by standing on stage in front of a large live audience.
Pearl once appeared on the set of the talent show Lo Show Dei Record. She was carried onto the stage by Vanesa in a luxurious egg-shaped Easter chair and received a warm round of applause.
Pearl enjoys high-quality foods like chicken and salmon. “She also loves to dress up. We have shared so much joy together,” Vanesa mentioned about their recent shopping trip around Milan.
